An afternoon in Pune

There is something romantic about being in a new city, careless whispers in a tongue unknown, streets you haven’t been to before that feel like home.

Pune was exactly this, a perfect blend of an old town welcoming the city and in the heart of it all a perfect symphony of culture, food and beauty :)

I had just an afternoon in this rather quaint city and while walking along bustling roads looking for that one Pani Puri wale Bhaiya I read about online I saw everything this place symbolises. Street vendors preparing a batch mashed potatoes for when the streets are bustling with tourists and locals alike lining up for some savoury dabelis to the mellowed soothing music from the mosque getting ready for the Ramadan season, it was quite beautiful. Driving around as the sky changed colors and the dusk started setting in I realised how beautiful everything here was and how glad I got an afternoon if not more to witness it all ❤️

inserating an itinerary of places/things to try out when you visit this pretty place(suggestions from friends and stuff I tried myself) :

- shanivarwada fort

- auto rides and the local bus (much more affordable than taxis and car rentals)

- German bakery (cheesecakes here are good)

- Kayani bakery (Shrewsbury cookies)

- new poona drink house

- pashaan lake (check the timings out cause it’s closed in the afternoon)

- jaishankar pani puri wala

Until next time ✨
